The cover Macmillan used to market the book before printing was a mock-up, which referred to such wonders as Active Desktop and Customising the TaskBar and other such stuff, which is connected with the actual book only insofar as it's a good description of what's not included! The book is, for the most part, concerned only with ISO C, not with particular platforms. Note: this is not an error with the book itself, but it certainly caused some early confusion with regard to the book's contents.
