Yes, yes, all right - we came last! Or fifth, if you prefer! Congratulations to Roger Conroy. We'll be doing our best to keep an eye on how effectively he represents Spencer people on the Council.

Spencer Ward stretches from Harlestone Road to the railway line, and from Spencer Bridge Road to the Hopping Hill/Lodge Farm area. It comprises Spencer itself, Dallington (which is somewhat larger than Spencer), and Kings Heath.

Kings Heath Adventure Club It's good to know that there is some provision for youth activity within Spencer Ward. Kings Heath Adventure Club is a good example. It is run by Roger Conroy, the Liberal Democrat winner of the 2006 by-election. We hope he manages to find the time to keep it going!
We hope that people living in Spencer Ward will enjoy glancing through our photographic record of many of the ward's residential roads; with over 180 photographs to browse through, you may just find that your own house is pictured here!

A note about privacy: we think this collection of photographs is of interest to the people of Spencer Ward (which is why we're doing it), but we don't want to compromise anyone's privacy. We take a lot of photographs, to give ourselves lots of scope for rejecting photographs that might offend some people's sensibilities. For example, we reject any photographs that contain clear images of people's faces, unless the area is so busy as to make this impractical (and if it is that busy, it means that attention isn't drawn to any one person anyway); we reject almost all photographs that portray just a single house; and we digitally obscure any easily-readable car number plates.

Apart from cropping (for size), rotating (to make sure all the photographs are the right way up), and an occasional adjustment of brightness or contrast, the only digital editing we perform on the photographs is where doing so can help to protect people's privacy. We considered obscuring advertisements, especially estate agent boards, but it seemed a bit petty, and anyway they probably even out over the long run!

All scripture references on this site are taken from the King James (Authorised) Version of the Bible, for copyright reasons, except where explicitly noted.
