Equality Bill - Request for Prayerful ConsiderationFirst the Racial and Religious Hatred Bill, now the Equality Bill - it seems that legislation that limits our freedoms can be identified easily by the title alone. Who could protest against a Bill against "religious hatred"? (But that's not what it's really about.) And now "equality". (But that's not what it's really about.) The Labour Party seems to abide by Lynn and Jay's maxim that you should get rid of the difficult bit in the title, where it does less harm than in the text.
