Why this site is no longer updated
From mid-2005 to some time in 2008, I was (among many other things!) an activist
for a Christian political party, the Christian Peoples Alliance. After that
initial flurry of activity, however, I slowly became less and less involved, mostly because
all the action was going on in London, a good few dozen miles from my home, and
it just became too much of a drain on my energy. Nevertheless, I still consider
them to be the best home for a Christian's vote (and, in Newham at least, for
anyone's vote). And I suspect I'll gravitate there again when the time comes
to campaign for the 2012 council elections. (At the time of writing, August 2009,
the Christian Peoples Alliance has three borough councillors to the best of my knowledge.
They all represent the Canning Town South ward in Newham.)
During the time I was actively involved, I set up this little Web site, which was
intended to play the rôle of "critical friend" and which deliberately
maintained a certain distance from the CPA leadership, so that I could make it as
objective as possible. As I got less involved, however, I updated it less and less.
On 31st August 2009 I happened to re-visit it, and noticed that it was appallingly
out of date. I therefore decided to delete one or two things whose current interest
value was rather nebulous, and added this comment as an explanation of why it's
so static nowadays. I decided not to delete the whole site, however (which was
obviously one option open to me), because some people do actually link to it and
there are still a few interesting bits to those who would like to learn a little
more about the CPA. In particular, I can recommend the series of political essays
to anyone who is interested in a Christian take on politics.

You can now read the Mayflower Declaration (a booklet that
lays out the CPA's underlying philosophy) on your Web browser, without a PDF reader,

site to host a copy. Any typographical errors are entirely my responsibility.
Political Essays
An open-ended collection of articles intended to challenge, inform,
and prepare Christians who are becoming involved in politics - even if that involvement goes
only so far as casting their votes wisely and well. Submissions welcome.
